Description
Dart Dragunov is a Captain of the Inquisition and a member of the order of Thaumaturges, the so-called Miracle Makers. He is a man of average height and medium build, distinguished by his long, dark blue hair and orange eyes marked by a distinct ring around the pupils. An black eyepatch covers his left eye and a scar cuts across his nose. He wears the official uniform of an Inquisition Captain, complete with a frilled collar and long cape, and carries a longbow as his weapon of choice.

His carefree and laid-back demeanor belies a contemplative nature; he prefers to analyze a situation thoroughly before he acts. This analytical mind allows him to exploit people and circumstances with great effectiveness, though never from a place of malice. He operates with a strong personal integrity, a trait that sets him apart from many of his peers, and he prioritizes the protection of civilians above blind obedience to orders. He believes change is achieved through collective effort, not individual action, and has proven willing to arrest fellow Inquisitors who harm the innocent. He is also an experienced cook who demonstrates genuine care and appreciation for the hard work of his crew.

His primary power is his Miracle, a unique ability granted to all Thaumaturges. His is named "Abolition of Distances," a power that allows him to teleport to the location of any arrow he has shot, whether it is still in flight or has already found its mark. He activates this power with the phrase, "Patrem Inquisitor, Institutor Of The Miracle, May Your Presence Discard All Distances." Beyond his supernatural gift, he is a master archer whose keen eyesight and exceptional marksmanship make him a formidable opponent, able to detect and anticipate an enemy's subtlest movements.

He once held the rank of Vice-Captain, with Konrad de Marbourg serving as a soldier under his command during the events in Rumble Town two decades ago. His honor, rigor, and sense of duty during that crisis led to his promotion to the rank of Thaumaturge by General Torque. Their relationship later soured when Dragunov attempted to confront the General about corruption within their ranks, culminating in a lethal confrontation from which he only escaped by using his Miracle.

He maintains significant relationships with several key figures. His dynamic with the infected sorcerer Seth is complex, evolving from mutual distrust into a grudging respect, to the point that Dragunov provides him with the crucial information that he was not Konrad's killer. His connection to the infected Mélie is profound; he develops a strong empathy for her, saves her on multiple occasions, and ultimately disobeys direct orders to come to her aid. His professional relationship with his superior, General Torque, began with trust and decayed into conflict over ideology. He also shares a long-standing and wary association with Konrad, whom he suspects of orchestrating malicious schemes under the authority of the Inquisition.
