Mutsu, a disciplined archer serving Tahomaru, Kagemitsu Daigo’s second son, fights alongside her younger brother Hyogo as devoted retainers. Rescued from captivity during the Warring States period by Kagemitsu, who recognized their potential, the siblings trained and studied under Tahomaru’s tutelage. Concealing her gender in traditionally male attire, the fair-skinned warrior wears a white suikan over a dark teal kimono and white nagajuban, paired with plum bakama, black tabi, and zori. Her long brown hair hides beneath an eboshi hat, save for a single right-sided fringe. A black igote shields her left arm for archery, while black suneate protect her legs. Her suikan lacks the Daigo crest, unlike Hyogo’s. After losing her right arm to Hyakkimaru’s blades, Mutsu ventured to the Hall of Hell, offering herself to the Twelfth Demon for power to defend Daigo’s land. She later learned renewing the clan’s demonic pact required Hyakkimaru’s body, prompting her, Hyogo, and Tahomaru to seize his eyes and arms for their fatal confrontation with him—a battle where she, Hyogo, and Midoro perished. Courageous and principled, Mutsu rejects dishonorable tactics like taking hostages, remaining unaware of Daigo’s order to capture Dororo. Her unwavering loyalty to Tahomaru and bond with Hyogo, forged through shared hardship and loyalty, drive her relentless pursuit of justice.
