Mord, a young man from Thorfinn Karlsefni's Icelandic village, has disheveled light brown hair and green eyes. Like others in the settlement, he is ambitious and eager to establish himself as a capable warrior. He harbors an infatuation for Ylva, Thorfinn’s sister.

When the village prepares for war, Mord joins the group departing Iceland alongside Thors and other youths. Unaware of Thors’ plan to send them back with Leif Ericson before reaching England, he embarks on the journey. Thors’ sacrifice during Askeladd’s band attack ensures Mord’s survival and return to Iceland.

Mord appears during the narrative’s early stages: he witnesses Thors’ duel in the village, participates in the Iceland departure, experiences the events leading to Thors’ death, and is present on the return voyage to Iceland after the tragedy.
