Description
Obier is a central figure in the Crystania narrative, defined by his dark, brooding, and cynical nature. He frequently exudes contempt for others and involves himself in schemes. A starkly tender side surfaces only in his relationship with Raifan, the young mage under his guardianship.

He wields formidable combat skills, specializing in a two-handed broadsword. These abilities come to the fore during his attempt to assassinate Lord Haven, ruler of Da’nan. Though defeated, Haven spares Obier’s life, acknowledging his fighting prowess. Obier is later framed for Haven’s murder by conspirators under the Deputy, who orchestrate the lord’s death through arson.

Forced into exile, Obier follows Redon’s group into Crystania after they cross the Gods’ Wall. Initially operating apart, he intervenes decisively during the group’s battle against Rumiss’ followers, providing crucial aid and returning Redon’s father’s sword. This act initiates his reluctant alliance with Redon’s party.

Within Crystania, Obier confronts Brasto, captain of the Shadow Cavalry, engaging him in a decisive duel during the assault on Dayton Castle. His combat prowess remains vital to the resistance against Barbas’ forces. Obier’s journey shifts him from a solitary warrior driven by self-preservation to a key ally in the larger conflict against divine tyranny, though his core cynicism endures. His protective bond with Raifan remains a constant thread throughout these events.
