Description
The Ancient One, a warrior mage, defeated the demon emperor Talpa during his initial invasion of the Mortal World a millennium ago. Recognizing Talpa's evil power could not be permanently destroyed, he split Talpa's armor into nine separate pieces, imbuing each with a distinct virtue. He entrusted these armors to nine families for safekeeping; five were destined for the protagonists, while four were eventually reclaimed by Talpa for his Dark Warlords.

Six hundred years after Talpa's defeat, The Ancient One reappeared as Talpa returned from exile and began searching for the armors. His legacy directly enabled the protagonists—Ryo Sanada, Sage Date, Cye Mouri, Kento Rei Fang, and Rowen Hashiba—to oppose Talpa's resurgence in the modern era. These warriors inherited the armors and were guided by The Ancient One's teachings, though their training under him occurred prior to the series' main events.

During the series, The Ancient One unlocked the warriors' potential by sending Kento to Mount Aso to focus his earth-based powers, Sage to the Catasota Gulch Pinnacles to understand the armors' dual nature as instruments of good or evil, and Cye to the Sea of Toyama to confront his inner darkness manifested as a clone named Red Torrent. These trials were essential for accessing the armors' full capabilities.

In the OVA *Message*, The Ancient One facilitated the warriors' acquisition of new armors gifted by the nature spirit Suzunagi, granting enhanced abilities necessary for emerging threats. The OVA *Legend of the Inferno Armor* revealed his deeper involvement in the armors' legacy: he warned the warriors of inherent corruption stemming from their origin as fragments of Talpa's evil armor and guided their purification to prevent catastrophic consequences during their battle against Mukala's corrupted Black Inferno Armor.

Spanning centuries, The Ancient One's interventions centered on mentoring armor bearers and safeguarding the balance between good and evil. His final known act ensured the armors' purification, securing their continued role as forces of protection.
