Description
Kayura is the last known survivor of the clan led by the Ancient One. Targeted and abducted as a young child during Talpa's attack on her village near Lake Mitama in Nara Prefecture, she witnessed her parents perish, leaving her the sole inheritor of her clan's legacy. Talpa sought to exploit her immense latent power. Through Badamon's manipulation, her memories and true identity were suppressed by a magical amulet or chest plate worn around her neck. This enchantment kept her under Talpa's control within the Nether Realm's Star Palace, where she lived in isolation, manipulated into believing herself a loyal Dynasty servant.

Initially serving as Talpa's most powerful warrior, Kayura displayed extreme arrogance, confidence, and unwavering loyalty to him, looking down upon others except Badamon. Her combat abilities surpassed even the Dark Warlords. She wielded twin jitte weapons, executing the special attack Ran Sei Zan (Storm Star Slash or Star Sword Scream), often accompanied by imagery of swirling wisteria flowers. While corrupted, distinctive red streaks marked her eyes.

A pivotal shift occurred during a confrontation with Anubis, the Warlord of Cruelty. Sensing her connection to the Ancient One, Anubis sacrificed himself to destroy the controlling amulet. This shattered Badamon's spell, freeing Kayura from Talpa's influence and restoring her memories and true personality. The red streaks vanished, revealing her natural dark blue irises, and she reverted to her inherently kind and caring nature. Inheriting both the Ancient One's staff and Anubis's Armor of Cruelty (which she wore without a helmet), she dedicated herself to fulfilling their will.

Freed from evil, Kayura allied with the Ronin Warriors and the reformed Dark Warlords to confront Talpa permanently. She played a crucial role in his final defeat, utilizing the Jewel of Life. Following the Dynasty's fall, she returned to the Nether Realm alongside the former Dark Warlords to oversee its reconstruction and restoration, embracing her heritage as the Ancient One's successor. Her personality transformed entirely after liberation; she expressed remorse for her controlled actions, enjoyed dancing, and harbored a distinct dislike for slugs.

In later stories, she actively maintained balance in the Nether Realm, wielding the combined power of the Ancient Staff and the Armor of Cruelty as its guardian. Her journey represents an arc from a manipulated weapon of evil to a protector guided by the virtues of her lineage.
