Description
Shin Mouri, known as Cye Mouri in English adaptations and Jorge in Spanish, hails from Yamaguchi Prefecture along the Sea of Japan. His family descends from the historically significant Mouri samurai clan, with generations dedicated to protecting the Hagi Sea and guarding the Suiko armor. Family traditions encompass pottery, martial arts, and the tea ceremony. Raised primarily by his mother, who has a fragile heart condition, and his older sister Sayoko after his father's early death, Shin is positioned to inherit leadership of the family's successful pottery business. Initial friction over his sister's engagement to Ryuusuke eased once Ryuusuke earned Shin's trust.

At fifteen, Shin discovered the Suiko armor during a traditional coming-of-age dive into the Hagi Sea, aided by his orca companion Suiki. This armor embodies the virtue of Trust (Shin), drawing power from water sources. Its primary weapon is the Nijou Yari spear, supplemented by a tanto dagger stored on the shoulder plate. The armor's signature technique is the Chou Ryuu Ha (Super Wave Smasher or Wave Crusher), generating high-pressure water attacks from the spear tip. Shin possesses exceptional natural swimming abilities, navigating whirlpools and rapids even without the armor, and communicates with marine animals through mutual trust.

Shin exhibits a gentle and polite demeanor, often attributed to his upbringing in a predominantly female household. He dislikes conflict, avoiding fights unless confronting merciless enemies, at which point his anger becomes formidable. His interests include the tea ceremony, cooking, flower arranging, English conversation, and basketball. He refuses to eat fish served with the head attached. Despite camaraderie with fellow warriors, he occasionally experiences loneliness and displays youthful mischievousness.

Shin undergoes significant development across story arcs. He appears alongside other warriors in Tokyo during the initial war against Arago/Talpa, initially struggling with teamwork before uniting with them. The Gaiden OVA sees him travel to America, participate in battles in Manhattan and Los Angeles, and contribute his energy to summon Ryo's Inferno armor. During the Kikoutei arc, Shin grapples with reluctance to continue fighting, hesitates to lend power at critical moments, argues with Kento over responsibilities, and briefly abandons the group. He later reconciles, travels to Africa using his armor's power, aids his exhausted comrades, and participates in purifying the corrupted Inferno armors. His own armor is temporarily imprisoned by the antagonist Black Blaze during these events before recovery.

He maintains close bonds with fellow warriors, particularly Ryo and Kento, often teaming up with the latter. His relationships with Sage and Rowen are respectful and cooperative, though less prominent. Family remains central to Shin, with ongoing concern for his mother's health and a complex but ultimately trusting relationship with his sister and brother-in-law.
