Description
Tristan (Shū Rei Fuan) hails from a wealthy overseas Chinese family established in Japan since the Qing Dynasty, proprietors of a prosperous restaurant in Yokohama's Chinatown. Despite considerable family wealth, his values remain untainted due to a principled upbringing. His dignified, impeccably dressed father and emotionally warm, Kung Fu expert mother instilled in him strong honesty and moral fortitude. As the eldest of five siblings—sisters Rinfi and Chun Fa, and brothers Mei Ryu and Yun—Tristan's destined path awakened in childhood. Defending his brothers after they broke a family heirloom in their antique storehouse, he discovered a unique pearl glowing with the kanji for "righteousness" ("Gi") in his grasp, inert for others—crystallizing his connection to the virtue of Justice.

Tristan embodies fierce devotion to justice and intolerance for moral weakness or corruption. He radiates a positive, sunny disposition coupled with frantic energy, constantly seeking activity to mask an underlying loneliness that surfaces amidst crowds of admirers, particularly teenage girls drawn to his kindness, honesty, and emotional firmness. He possesses exceptional physical strength even unarmored, demonstrated by feats like halting speeding vehicles, and maintains a prodigious appetite capable of consuming ten hamburgers and multiple bento boxes before breakfast. He dislikes konjac and edible bird's nest, favoring hobbies like arcade gaming, arm wrestling, mountain climbing, and Tai Chi practice.

He wields the Armor of Hardrock (Kongō), symbolizing Earth and Justice, renowned as the physically strongest and most violent armor. His primary weapon, the Kongo Tsue staff, separates into three sections for versatile offense and defense. His ballistic attack, Iron Rock Crusher (Gantessai), concentrates terrestrial energy to unleash seismic force capable of crushing buildings. Throughout battles against the Dynasty, Tristan displays steadfast loyalty and protective instincts towards comrades, sharing a close friendship with Cye—evident in joint activities like surfing and cohabitation during missions. Following Arago's defeat, Tristan acquires a new armor in the OVA "Message." His narrative consistently emphasizes unwavering commitment to justice, protecting his family, and channeling immense physical power through disciplined combat.
