Description
Bindi is a small, pink, snail-like Time Shifter capable of flight, often found residing within a shell. First encountered in 15th century Transylvania, she lived with Vlad Țepeș, historically linked to the Dracula legend. Bonding with Vlad over her own fear of loneliness and lost memories of her origins, she offered companionship after his servants abandoned him. During this period, she demonstrated the ability to speak human language, though the reason remained unknown even to her.
Her personality reflects fierce loyalty and pronounced jealousy. She grew visibly frustrated when Vlad showed amusement towards others like Flint and later displayed intense possessiveness and jealousy regarding her partner, Time Detective Merlock Holmes, whom she joined after leaving Vlad. She threatened to abandon Vlad when ignored and eventually ran away from Merlock after feeling neglected.
Bindi's specific abilities were initially unclear. Later, her powers manifested as draining life force from living things, such as trees, and transferring that energy to animate inanimate objects, exemplified by bringing the Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang to life. This life-draining trait exhibited parallels to vampiric characteristics.
Following her departure from Vlad, Bindi partnered with Merlock Holmes. After an argument where Merlock ignored her, she fled and was captured by the villain Petra Fina. Petra used her "Petra Stamp" to forcibly transform Bindi into her evil form, Bindi-kon (Ankoku in Japanese sources). As Bindi-kon, she lost coherent speech, attacked Merlock under Petra's control, and drained his energy. Merlock, steadfastly refusing to fight back, appealed to her true self. His tear, combined with an apology for neglect, shattered Petra's control. This emotional moment triggered Bindi's transformation into her powerful Master form, Bindi-master (Super Ammon/Super Beauty Ammon in Japanese sources). Bindi-master healed Merlock and displayed a distinctly human-like appearance. Reverting to her normal form, she retained no memory of the events while transformed under Petra's control or as Bindi-master.
Her partnership with Merlock deepened into a close bond, yet she remained fiercely protective and jealous, particularly concerning his interactions with Sarah Goodman. Despite her amnesia regarding the transformation incident, she maintained her devoted and sometimes clingy demeanor towards Merlock.
