Description
Burn Griffiths is a hot-blooded American psychic and the narrative's central protagonist. Recognized as a master pyrokinetic, he wields formidable fire-based psychic powers. His personality blends energetic excitability with deep loyalty to friends, though he can be moody.

Originally a high school football player from a rural American corn-farming background, his life changed dramatically when his childhood friend Keith Evans vanished. Three years later, Burn's latent psychic abilities ignited upon receiving a telepathic message from Keith. This spurred him to seek out Keith, leading him to the organization NOA. There, he encountered Wendy Ryan and Emilio Michaelov, who also opposed NOA's methods. The trio escaped NOA together, though Burn later returned alone to confront Keith.

During their clash at NOA headquarters, the base began exploding and collapsing. Instinctively, Burn used his powers to shield Keith with a protective barrier. While Keith survived, Burn was caught in the blast, severely injured, and fell into a coma. Keith found Burn unconscious and placed him in cryogenic stasis deep beneath the ruined base to save his life.

Burn remained frozen until his re-emergence in 2012, awakening amidst renewed conflict involving Neo NOA and the splinter group The Army, led by Richard Wong. Despite the physical and emotional toll, Burn remains committed to stopping extremist factions. His primary personal mission persists: persuading Keith to abandon his goal of creating a psychic-exclusive utopia, which Burn deems morally unjustifiable due to its harm to non-psychics.

In combat, Burn employs an aggressive close-range style focused on overwhelming offensive pressure and high-damage combos. He specializes in wall combos, using environmental surfaces to extend attacks. Signature techniques include flame projectiles ("Flame Shoot"), a fiery rushing attack ("Burning Trail"), and the powerful, energy-intensive "God Phoenix." He fluidly chains basic attacks into psychic techniques. However, his approach carries risks: he has limited defense, struggles against long-range opponents, and some moves leave him vulnerable if they miss. His psychic activation ability, "Nova Flare," is notably ineffective.

Key relationships define his journey. His complex bond with Keith Evans mixes lingering friendship with profound ideological conflict over Keith's utopian ambitions. Within Anti-NOA, Burn served as a determined leader alongside Wendy and Emilio, though both allies faced traumas – Wendy's search for her missing sister and Emilio's subsequent brainwashing by hostile forces. Burn's protective instincts often extended to his teammates, particularly the younger Emilio.
