TV-Series
Description
Yamaneko Arthur is one of six Arthurs chosen by the sacred sword Excalibur to restore the world's distorted history. Her mission demands she defeat individuals empowered by Excalibur who are altering reality. She wields a heavy weapons-type Excalibur, typically appearing as a rocket launcher, and specializes in ranged combat.
Stoic and unsociable by nature, she maintains a guarded demeanor and rarely speaks of her past. She dedicates herself seriously to the mission but struggles with interpersonal connections, often appearing aloof. Despite this, she shows protectiveness, particularly towards the team leader, Dancho Arthur. Moments where Dancho holds her hand, compliments her swimsuit, or attempts to feed her trigger blushing, shyness, and flustered reactions, revealing a tsundere aspect.
Her relationships extend to others. She rescues Arthur Aqua by holding her and grabbing her waist during missions. She persistently searches for Utahime Arthur during a water competition to save her from a threat, displaying panic and excitement upon finding her. She also shyly ships male teammates Tekken and Kakka Arthur. A notable development occurs when amnesia strikes her; Dancho exploits this by falsely claiming they are lovers, prompting Yamaneko to nearly kiss her before the ruse is interrupted.
In combat, she functions as a zoning specialist, utilizing projectile attacks like Magic Cannon (5D), Air Magic Cannon (j.5D), and angled aerial fire (j.2D). Her unique technique (214D/j.214D) allows her to load elemental bullets—Void, Fire, Ice, or Wind—by canceling assist call animations. These bullets imbue her projectiles with properties: Fire causes wall bounces, Ice freezes opponents, and Wind counterhits launch them. This system enables extensive combo customization but requires strategic assist usage. Her below-average mobility necessitates reliance on positioning and elemental effects for optimal effectiveness.
Her journey includes confronting challenges like the temporary loss of Excalibur and participating in events testing her resolve. Through these experiences, she remains a determined combatant focused on correcting the world's distortions alongside her fellow Arthurs.
