OVA
Description
Yoshiko Ueno begins as Ken Kubo’s college sweetheart, sharing his conventional lifestyle amid tennis club camaraderie. Their bond frays as Kubo immerses himself in otaku culture through friend Tanaka, prompting her to reject his newfound passions and sever ties—a rupture that catalyzes his transformation into a committed otaku.

Years later, Yoshiko entwines her fate with Bankman Kanda, Kubo’s business rival, wielding their union as a strategic weapon against his entrepreneurial ambitions. Her calculated maneuvers culminate in Kanda seizing control of Kubo’s enterprise, precipitating his financial ruin. This evolution casts Yoshiko as an enduring antagonist, embodying vindictive resolve as she manipulates personal history to haunt Kubo’s existence long after their parting.

Her narrative arc remains contained within the core story, serving both as personal catalyst for Kubo and cultural counterpoint to otaku subcultures through her embrace of mainstream conformity.
