Immediately learning of the incident, she travels to the crash site with her cameraman, Leakey, aiming to capture footage for sale to major networks. At the site, she persists in attempting to bypass military cordons and document the event despite significant risks.

After escaping military custody during an android assault on the soldiers' base, Sybel parts ways with Leakey to pursue leads independently. She finds Professor Matthews' ransacked forest residence, uncovering a critical voicemail from his granddaughter, Ferris, revealing her city location. Sybel deduces the surviving android also accessed this message and is heading to eliminate Ferris. Sybel proactively travels to the city restaurant to warn Ferris, overcoming the girl's initial reluctance by directly explaining the lethal android threat.
