Description
Ken Taiga is a 12-year-old sixth grader living in Hokkaido. Initially displaying immature behavior like skirt-flipping and voyeurism, his ordinary life shatters when the Dragon Empire attacks, awakening the sealed devil god Jashin Drago. Amidst this chaos, Ken awakens to his lineage as a descendant of the Lion Clan, a bloodline historically tied to the divine Liger. This heritage manifests as a birthmark on his hand, enabling his transformation into the biomechanical armor Jushin Liger by shouting "LIGER!" The armor fuses with his body, resembling a demonic entity with streaming hair and granting enhanced combat prowess.

His grandfather, Ryuzo Taiga, acts as his mentor, unveiling their family's connection to Liger and the ancient war against Drago. Ken fights alongside allies: his classmate Goro Dan and the Kamishiro twins, Yui and Mai, later revealed as his relatives. The twins possess psychic abilities and summon the mechanical steed Begaruda, which Liger utilizes in battle. Ken's initial inappropriate behavior towards the twins evolves into protective loyalty upon discovering their kinship.

A central conflict is his rivalry with Dragon Empire general Ryu Dolk, later revealed as the long-lost brother of Yui and Mai. This revelation triggers internal conflict for Ryu, leading to his defection from the empire and ultimate sacrifice to atone. Ken's combat abilities evolve through distinct forms: the base Liger armor, the enhanced Thunder Liger (empowered by the Thunder Phoenix entity), and the ultimate Agama form, achieved through a mental fusion with the Kamishiro twins and Ryu. Key techniques include the Liger Slash (energy claws), Thunder Slash (electrified sword), and Vegaruda (mounted attacks using Begaruda).

Traumatic events, such as being forced to kill his brainwashed childhood friend Shinichi in Episode 8, drive Ken's significant maturation. In the finale, he leads the collective effort to defeat Drago in an alternate dimension, channeling humanity's hope to empower Agama. Following the empire's defeat and Ryu's sacrifice, Ken emerges from the conflict alongside his surviving allies, though the conclusion notes widespread destruction and loss of life.
