Tadayoshi Funazu, renowned as Gozen of Kamakura, is a nonagenarian political powerhouse wielding extensive influence within Japan's government. He shared a long-standing acquaintance with Sukaza Ryudo, grandfather of the Ryudo brothers, and knew of Sukaza's dragon heritage. Decades before the main events, he journeyed with Sukaza to the Dragon Village, Ryoshenkiu. There, Gozen killed a female resident and consumed her blood, uncovering its power to grant immunity against conventional weapons like knives and bullets. He subsequently extracted more of her blood, sustaining his longevity and resistance through regular injections, which accounts for his remarkable age.

In Japan, Gozen stood as a bulwark thwarting the Four Sisters corporation's efforts to manipulate the government. He emerged as the first major adversary confronting the Ryudo brothers. His immunity rendered him a formidable threat until Amaru Ryudo, transformed into his dragon form, ultimately killed him.
