Description
Naozumi Kamura is a child actor who becomes significant in the life of Sana Kurata. Abandoned as a baby and raised at the Kamura Orphanage, he shares a history with Sana, who also spent time there as an infant. This includes a childhood incident where he helped Sana recover from an illness, though she initially mistook him for a girl due to his long hair.
He possesses gray hair and blue eyes, traits indicating mixed nationalities. His physical features and charismatic demeanor fuel his popularity as an actor, though these have little effect on Sana. His personality blends charm, ambition, and deep emotional sensitivity. He is caring and prioritizes Sana's well-being, finding comfort only when she is happy. He shows strong loyalty to the Kamura Academy and its residents, but beneath his polite exterior, he can be possessive and internally intense regarding his feelings for Sana. When flustered or upset, he often plays the trumpet as an emotional outlet, much to his manager's annoyance.
Professionally, he is a prodigious talent in the entertainment industry, winning awards for his performances. His career begins partly inspired by Sana's own work.
His primary relationship is with Sana Kurata, for whom he develops deep romantic feelings. His infatuation is longstanding; he collected photos and information about her since they were both five years old. He eventually confesses his love, but she does not reciprocate, being in love with Akito Hayama. Despite this rejection, he relinquishes his romantic pursuit and remains her loyal friend. In the manga's conclusion, he leaves Japan to advance his acting career by filming a movie abroad.
A significant story arc involves Naozumi and Sana traveling to New York City to perform in a Broadway musical. There, he unexpectedly encounters both of his birth parents. The emotional trauma of these encounters brings him and Sana closer, leading to a brief romantic relationship upon their return to Japan. However, he ends the relationship after realizing that Sana's feelings for Akito Hayama persist.
In the spin-off material *Deep Clear*, it is revealed that Naozumi is bisexual.
His rivalry with Akito Hayama is a consistent aspect of his interactions, driven by their competition for Sana's affection. Naozumi directly confronts Akito about this and warns him not to make Sana cry.
