Description
Loid Forger, codenamed Twilight, is a master spy for the Westalian Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division. His true name and original identity remain unknown.

He spent his childhood in the eastern town of Luwen. His father was a pacifist who disapproved of war, while his mother was brave and caring. Twilight befriended three neighborhood children, and they often played soldiers in an abandoned military warehouse, dreaming of joining the military together. This strained his relationship with his father. When Ostania bombed Luwen, starting a war, Twilight witnessed the death of a local baker and the warehouse's destruction. He survived with a head injury but was separated from his parents. He and his mother moved to Kielberg, but that town was also attacked. While searching for her during an air raid, he discovered she had been killed. The war left him an orphan with immense hatred for Ostania, motivating his later desire to create a peaceful world where children would not have to cry.

He later lied about his age to enlist in the Westalian army under the alias Roland Spoofy. His exceptional battlefield skills led to his recruitment into WISE, where he was trained in espionage by Sylvia Sherwood. He became Westalis's greatest spy, operating as Twilight.

For Operation Strix, his most critical mission, he created the alias Loid Forger, a psychiatrist at Berlint General Hospital. The objective is to get close to the reclusive Ostanian politician Donovan Desmond by enrolling a child in the same prestigious academy Desmond's sons attend, Eden Academy. This necessitated creating a convincing family unit.

Loid adopted a young orphan girl named Anya and entered a marriage of convenience with Yor Briar, a city hall clerk. Unbeknownst to him, Anya is a telepath who was once a test subject known as Subject 007, and Yor is a professional assassin codenamed Thorn Princess. The family later adopted a large white dog named Bond, who possesses precognitive abilities.

In appearance, Loid is a tall, handsome man with short blond hair, blue eyes, and a slender yet athletic build. He commonly wears a light green three-piece suit with a red tie, a white shirt, and black shoes, often accessorized with a dagger-shaped WISE lapel pin. For spy missions involving infiltration or combat, he wears a black outfit consisting of a long-sleeved shirt, pants tucked into boots, a beanie-like hat with goggles, fingerless gloves, and a mask covering the lower portion of his face.

As a spy, Twilight is typically calm, collected, pragmatic, and methodical. He is a genius-level intellectual with an eidetic memory, capable of rapidly analyzing any situation and formulating complex plans. He is a master of disguise, skilled in hand-to-hand combat, an expert marksman, and fluent in multiple languages. He approaches his missions with intense determination and a willingness to do whatever is necessary to complete them, though he avoids endangering civilians and only kills when absolutely necessary.

Despite his professional detachment, his experiences as a war orphan left him with a deep-seated desire to prevent other children from suffering similar trauma. This underlying compassion surfaces through his interactions with his fake family. He initially views Anya and Yor as tools for his mission but gradually develops genuine paternal feelings for Anya and deep respect for Yor. This creates a significant internal conflict as he struggles to reconcile his mission objectives with his growing emotional attachments.

His strict, disciplined approach to tutoring Anya often leads to frustration for both of them, though he learns to become more lenient. He is highly protective of Anya, often displaying anger born of worry when she is in danger. He frequently misinterprets the actions and intentions of both Anya and Yor due to their hidden secrets, leading to comedic and stressful misunderstandings. He remains entirely oblivious to the romantic feelings his subordinate Fiona Frost, codenamed Nightfall, holds for him.

The character has undergone significant development. The facade of Loid Forger initially served as a professional cover but has become a medium for reconnecting with emotions and attachments he had long suppressed. He has openly discussed his spy activities with Bond, showing a level of trust. He has also confided in Yor about parts of his past to affirm her place in the family, something he rarely does.

Operational successes include making brief contact with his target, Donovan Desmond, though it yielded minimal intelligence due to Desmond's enigmatic nature. Other missions have involved thwarting assassination plots, rescuing animals, and solving mysteries, often with unintended assistance from his family's unique abilities.

The ongoing narrative explores the tension between his spy identity Twilight, his constructed persona Loid Forger, and the man he was before the war. His journey involves navigating the complexities of family life while maintaining his cover and completing his missions, all while his emotional investment in his family continues to grow.
