Alex Organ

Description
Alex Organ is an American voice actor born on August 12, 1981, who is primarily known for his work in English-language dubs of Japanese anime series, often produced at the former Funimation studios in Dallas, Texas. His career is notable for its strong foundation in theatrical performance, which has significantly influenced his approach to voice acting.

Organ's professional journey began in theater, an art form he pursued from childhood through higher education, eventually earning a graduate degree in acting. After moving to Dallas, he remained deeply involved in the local theater scene, which became his primary career focus. His entry into voice acting occurred somewhat incidentally when a high school friend working as a director at Funimation invited him to audition for small parts. Despite having no significant background with anime, Organ began taking on minor roles, with his work gradually increasing in prominence. A significant turning point came in 2011 when he was cast as the lead role of Shogo Makishima in the English dub of Psycho-Pass, which was followed by the lead role of Decim in Death Parade with much of the same creative team.

Throughout the 2010s, Organ amassed an extensive list of credits while balancing voice work with his theatrical career. He became a recognizable voice for characters with cool, sharp, and sometimes villainous tones. Some of his notable roles from this period include Kaku in One Piece, Doranbolt in Fairy Tail, Kisho Arima in Tokyo Ghoul, Shota Aizawa in the first season of My Hero Academia, Sirzechs Lucifer in High School DxD, and Zed O'Brien in Blood Blockade Battlefront. He also took on prominent roles in several OVAs and films, such as Shin Hyuga in Code Geass: Akito the Exiled and Togusa in Ghost in the Shell: Arise and its sequel film, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie. His film work also included a role in the feature The Boy and the Beast. In 2015 and 2016, he voiced Yoshiaki Satomi in both seasons of the superhero anime Concrete Revolutio.

Around 2016, Organ's focus shifted back to theater planning and performance, leading to what was described as a virtual retirement from regular voice-over work. During this hiatus, many of his ongoing anime roles were recast, often with actor Christopher Wehkamp. However, he made select returns to the industry for specific projects, including voicing Damnatio Kira in Black Clover and Lapointe in Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Battle of Kimluck.

The COVID-19 pandemic, which made live theater impossible, coincided with a major career resurgence for Organ. His friend, director Cris George, asked him to audition for the role of Loid Forger, codenamed Twilight, in the English dub of the massively popular series Spy×Family. This role marked a full-fledged return to voice acting and introduced him to a new, global audience. Organ has expressed that he finds the most rewarding characters to be those that are human, complex, and rooted in reality, rather than strictly categorizing them as heroes or villains. He has continued his voice work with Spy×Family across its multiple seasons and has become a regular guest at anime conventions worldwide, where he has had the opportunity to meet his co-stars from the series for the first time, as dubbing is typically recorded in individual sessions.
