This choice reveals Imura's readiness to employ skilled outsiders for critical tasks.

After Shuranosuke rescues the princess, Imura orchestrates betrayal by ordering the samurai's execution to conceal his own involvement in the circumstances of Mayu's capture and captivity. The execution halts abruptly when Princess Mayu collapses from poisoning administered by the Seki Ninja during her imprisonment.
