Description
Pokko originates from the 1974 anime adaptation of Jim Button and hails from Nandemoland. She is Jim Button's romantic interest and appears human in a pink dress reflecting feminine aesthetics. During an assault by villain Doringer's minions, Pokko and other Nandemoland children undergo forced transformation via Black's gun into animals. Pokko becomes a small pink songbird, maintaining her signature coloration. This animorphism shapes her core narrative: reversing the spell to regain human form. Her yearning for restoration manifests in the image song "Hayaku Ningen ni Modoritai," highlighting her emotional journey. Traveling alongside Jim Button and sentient locomotive Emma, she aids their quest to confront Doringer, rescue Jim's mother Nina, and revert the transformed children. Despite her avian state, Pokko exhibits agency by exploiting a critical vulnerability in Doringer's Cloak of Defense during their confrontation—untying its string to render him susceptible, a pivotal act enabling his defeat. Her connection with Jim is reinforced through the ending theme "Pokko-chan ga Suki." Pokko achieves her objective of human restoration during the final reversion of all affected children.
