Meiling, the older sister of protagonist Chinmi, grew up as an orphan alongside her brother. The siblings operated a modest restaurant near the Choko River until Chinmi departed for Dairin Temple to pursue martial arts training, after which Meiling managed the establishment independently.

Her early struggles included a kidnapping by a manipulative loan shark who fabricated fraudulent debts, leading to Chinmi’s intervention for her rescue. She later endured a devastating village flood, during which Chinmi again protected her.

Meiling’s character arc culminated in marriage by the conclusion of volume 29 in the original manga series, with no appearances or development in subsequent sequels or media.
