Zanark stands as the narrative's primary antagonist. He is a tall, muscular man distinguished by prominent eyebrows, facial hair, and a scar, often wearing a hat that adds to his imposing stature. His singular goal is seizing the power of the wind to conquer the land of Zer’lue. To achieve this, he kidnaps Luta, a boy possessing a unique red eye granting wind control. Zanark initially entrusts this mission and the destruction of Luta's village to Agahali, whom he raised as his daughter.

After Luta's capture, Zanark orders Agahali to imprison him for power extraction. Agahali confronts him, questioning their bond. Zanark reveals he is not her biological father, discloses his manipulation, and informs her she unknowingly killed her real father. When Agahali attacks him with a katana, the blade shatters against his superhumanly strong body.

Following this confrontation, Zanark ambushes the heroes, seizing both Luta's red wind-control crystal and Agahali's blue crystal. He stabs himself in both eyes with the crystals, achieving an enhanced form of wind manipulation. This transformation allows him to create a massive green energy creature, significantly amplifying his threat, and he declares his unstoppable dominion over Zer’lue.

His defeat occurs when Ansa, Agahali's twin sister, manifests a blue eye, inexplicably nullifying Zanark's powers. Vulnerable and weakened, he is stabbed in the throat and shot multiple times in the head, resulting in his death. Upon his demise, the unique eye colors of Luta, Agahali, and Ansa revert to ordinary brown.
