Description
Anti originated as an antagonist kaiju designed by Akane Shinjo with the sole directive to defeat Gridman. He possessed a unique repli-compoid ability to assume human form, appearing with short gray hair, red eyes, a blue jacket adorned with purple flame patterns, and a distinctive long scarf. Driven entirely by his programmed obsession to surpass Gridman, he displayed aggressive combat focus, often disregarding other objectives including Akane's commands to harm humans. Despite enduring Akane's consistent verbal and physical abuse, his loyalty to her persisted, though he refused tasks unrelated to his primary mission. Socially withdrawn and lacking human etiquette, he exhibited gluttonous eating habits and scavenged for food, reflecting his kaiju nature.

His combat centered on a "copy ability," enabling him to adapt and develop personalized versions of opponents' techniques. In his purple, white, and black biomechanical kaiju form, he wielded retractable wrist claws, fired organic tooth-like missiles from an abdominal maw (Buster Anti), and deployed leg thrusters for flight (Sky Anti), both abilities mimicked from Gridman's allies Borr and Sky Vitter. Additional powers included energy bullets, beams fired from spherical organs, and a forehead beam that also signaled his time limit. His human form retained superhuman strength and agility, allowing combat using weapons like a concealed buzzsaw.

A pivotal shift followed Akane's outright rejection and an assault by Alexis Kerib that left him injured and bandaged. Wandering in exhaustion, he received aid from Anosillus the 2nd, whose healing turned his injured eye blue. This event, combined with introspection prompted by Samurai Calibur questioning his purpose post-Gridman, led him to abandon Akane. His obsession evolved into a protective instinct; realizing Gridman's survival was essential to their rivalry, he intervened to save him during battle. This resolve triggered his transformation into Gridknight—a Gridman-like form with yellow neon accents—marking his transition from antagonist to ally. As Gridknight, he gained autonomous transformation, retained his kaiju strength and speed, and wielded new weapons like the Gridknight Calibur katana and Gridknight Storm beam.

In later years, now named Knight, he reappeared alongside Anosillus the 2nd to defend a new world from kaiju threats. Displaying greater maturity and stoicism, he remained protective of Anosillus while denying any deeper relationship. He collaborated with the Dynazenon team, initially clashing with its leader Gauma due to his abrasive demeanor before establishing mutual respect. Knight continued utilizing his Gridknight abilities in battle, including combining with Goldburn to form Grid Burn Knight for enhanced flight and joint attacks like the Burning Grid Rex Roar.

During a multidimensional crisis in the Gridman Universe film, Knight aided Gridman and the Dynazenon team against the entity Mad Origin. He participated in combined formations like Full Power Gridknight and expressed profound gratitude to Akane for creating him, acknowledging her role in granting him life and autonomy. His character arc concluded with him operating as a seasoned guardian across interconnected realities.
