Description
Coga Cota stands as the central protagonist throughout the Bottleman narrative. He is the eldest child with three younger siblings. Initially working part-time as a battlefield cleaner alongside his friend Ponta Hayari, his journey into Bottle Battling commences upon discovering the pre-registered "Origin," the Bottleman Colamaru DX. He enters the sport primarily to cover property damage costs, though his motivation gradually evolves into a genuine passion.

Cota possesses distinctive red hair featuring green streaks, usually tied in a small ponytail, and red eyes with piercings on both ears. His attire changes over time: a childhood outfit of a grey coat with lime-yellow highlights, a high collar, and "CO" on the left chest, worn with black and white shorts and red-yellow basketball shoes. This later shifts to a red tracksuit with white accents, black straps featuring green highlights, black shorts with teal accents, and magenta sneakers with yellow soles. Finally, after Episode 36, he adopts a predominantly black Beams collaboration tracksuit, shorts, and sneakers featuring red and teal accents.

His personality blends energetic enthusiasm with impulsiveness, often acting instinctively. Despite occasional recklessness, he demonstrates strong loyalty, sportsmanship, and kindness towards allies and rivals alike. He views Bottle Battling as a unifying activity meant to spread joy, not a platform for power struggles. This philosophy drives his actions, such as opposing the AI-controlled Ponta to restore his friend's autonomy and resolving conflicts between B-DACT and BMA.

Cota's competitive journey progresses from Bronze rank through Silver, Gold, Bottle Star, and ultimately Bottle King. His primary partner is the power-type, phoenix-motif Bottleman, Colamaru DX. He briefly uses an unnamed light-green and pink Bottleman when Colamaru DX is unavailable. After Colamaru DX sacrifices itself protecting him from Ryo's attack, it is repaired and upgraded into Colamaru Energy DX, enhancing their synchronization and combat effectiveness. He also receives the Speed Core and Control Core from Kaori, refining his aiming and shooting techniques.

Key developments include inheriting the Bottle King title after Ponta voluntarily relinquishes it, followed by a Bottle Royale to validate his worthiness. As Bottle King, he partners with Ryo on a mission to defeat the AI Blastboss and prevent humanity's regression to the Middle Ages. Their successful activation of Sparkling Nova during the battle results in an explosion; they survive due to their shared resolve to continue competing. The narrative concludes with them engaging in a final match after saving humanity.

His name originates from "Coca-Cola," aligning with the series' beverage-themed naming convention. His childhood outfit closely resembles that of his web-series counterpart.
