Description
Kirara Hoshino is the main heroine of the story and a classmate and childhood friend of Retto Enjō. Born on August 2nd, she is known as the host of the H-energy color Egze-Yellow. Her life and personality are defined by a traumatic childhood encounter with a parasitic alien creature known as a Kiseichuu, or Censor Bug. Prior to this incident, Kirara was a mature and affectionate girl who was particularly fond of Retto, often displaying a playful and slightly devilish charm. However, the attack caused her to lose most of her memories from that time and triggered a complete personality shift.
In the present, Kirara is known at school as the Iron Maiden. She has developed an extreme aversion to men and a severe cleaning obsession, to the point where she cannot touch anything a boy has touched with her bare hands. She is strict and harsh with her male classmates, coldly rejecting any advances. Despite this cold exterior, moments of vulnerability appear. She can become flustered in embarrassing situations, such as when confronted with lingerie or adult-themed items, and when she is relaxed, asleep, or under the influence of her inner self, she unconsciously calls Retto by his childhood nickname Rekkun.
Kirara's role in the story is central to the team. After being attacked on her way home from school with Retto, she is forced to work together with him to repel the enemy. Initially, she refuses to join the Saitama branch of the SUPER HXEROS team, but after hearing Retto's reasons for fighting and instinctively moving to protect someone from another attack, she decides to join. Once part of the team, her relationship with Retto begins to improve, and her extreme cleanliness issues become almost non-existent when he is around.
Kirara possesses an exceptionally high capacity for storing H-energy, the vital force used to fight the Kiseichuu. Her maximum H-value is recorded at 100.2MJ, ranking second highest in the Saitama branch. Her combat suit and fighting style are similar to Retto's. As a child, her H-energy potential was so great that it caused a Kiseichuu that attempted to absorb it to self-destruct, an experience that created her deep-seated trauma. Later in the story, she learns a powerful joint technique with Retto called Tenchi Musou no Hou, or Alteration of Heaven and Earth.
A notable aspect of her character is the manifestation of an alternate personality or illusion called Black Kirara. This entity takes the appearance of Kirara as she was in elementary school, wearing a black leotard with bat-like wings and a red backpack. Black Kirara embodies her repressed childhood personality and is mischievous, honest, and bold. Only visible to Kirara, Black Kirara constantly tries to push her and Retto back together, speaking openly about wanting her and Rekkun to be together. The development of her character revolves around reconciling her past trauma with her present feelings. Her beloved hair accessory is a gift from Retto, though she has forgotten this fact. Her journey shows her gradually confronting her psychological barriers and moving from emotional isolation to becoming a more open and reliable teammate.
