Description
Masamune Izumi is a high school student and light novel author who publishes under a pen name slightly altering the kanji of his real name. Born July 10th and approximately 15-16 years old during the series, he has green hair, purple eyes, stands 176 cm tall, weighs 59 kg, and has blood type A.

After his biological mother died, Masamune lived alone with his father. He won a light novel contest in his first year of middle school, launching his writing career. Roughly two years later, his father remarried, giving Masamune a stepsister, Sagiri Izumi. Shortly after the marriage, Masamune's father and stepmother died on their honeymoon, leaving Masamune and Sagiri orphaned. Masamune then took responsibility for caring for Sagiri, who became a reclusive hikikomori rarely leaving her room.

Masamune exhibits strong responsibility and independence, prioritizing Sagiri's well-being. He initially resented his anonymous illustrator, "Eromanga Sensei," for perceived criticisms, later discovering it was Sagiri. This revelation deepened his respect for her and intensified his commitment to supporting her recovery. His primary goal became helping Sagiri reintegrate with the world, driven partly by a promise to his late stepmother.

Professionally, Masamune writes rapidly, drafting multiple novels annually alongside school. His series *Silverwolf of Reincarnation* gained followers, though he later shifted to romantic comedy. He participates in events like the Light Novel Tenkaichi Butōkai, defeating rivals like Muramasa Senju. His writing philosophy centers on bringing readers joy, inspired by Sagiri's reactions and stemming from his own use of writing to cope with his mother's death.

Masamune's personality blends determination with vulnerability. He is fiercely protective of Sagiri and values honesty. He displays low writing self-esteem and fears rejection. Though easily irritated by laziness, especially in colleagues like Elf Yamada, he respects their talents and maintains professional rivalries. Socially reserved, he forms close bonds, like his friendship with Tomoe Takasago, whose bookstore he frequents.

His relationships drive development. With Sagiri, he balances sibling support with acknowledging mutual romantic feelings, consciously prioritizing her recovery over romance. With fellow authors, dynamics shift from rivalry to respect: Elf Yamada challenges him creatively, becoming a collaborator, while Muramasa Senju evolves from antagonist to grudging admirer. Megumi Jinno, Sagiri's classmate, initially annoys him with attempts to force Sagiri to socialize, though he later recognizes her genuine intentions.

Masamune's abilities extend beyond writing. He is a skilled cook, preparing daily meals for Sagiri. He demonstrates resilience managing household finances and negotiating with their legal guardian, his aunt Kyouka Izumi. Their agreement requires him to sustain their lifestyle through his writing income, adding professional pressure.

Throughout the series, Masamune grows in emotional openness. He encourages Sagiri's incremental progress—from allowing him into her room to eventually venturing outdoors—while navigating complex feelings for her and others. His journey reflects themes of creative fulfillment and familial bonds, culminating in collaborative projects with Sagiri that strengthen their professional and personal partnership.
