Description
Cross Astrologia, also called Cross, hails from the Star Dragon World. He wields the unique power to foresee future events using astrology. Cross forms a dedicated buddy partnership with Subaru Hoshiyomi, a human who shares his fascination with celestial divination. Initially introverted and stoic, Cross exhibits strong overconfidence in the precision of his prophetic visions, mirroring Subaru's own reserved nature and creating an initial social barrier between them.
Following Subaru's temporary abandonment—a consequence of defeat by Vile Ranma and Seiji Kido—Cross stays behind with the Mikado household. He assists diligently with chores yet remains socially awkward among other monsters. His concern deepens significantly upon viewing footage suggesting Subaru might have joined the antagonistic Lost World, though this later proves a ruse by Subaru to gather evidence. Their emotional reunion sparks Cross's evolution into a more powerful form, strengthening their bond and enhancing his "Galaxy F" ability to overcome previous limitations like Seiji's Oppress tactic.
Cross's character arc closely mirrors Subaru's personal growth. As Subaru becomes more open, Cross gradually forges friendships and rivalries, particularly with Agito and Garga. During a pivotal interdimensional encounter, Cross and Subaru confront the mysterious Ades and an alternate version of Cross known as "King Cross." This fate-altering battle tests their resolve to pursue strength guided by personal conviction, cementing their mutual dedication to justice and free will.
Physically, Cross undergoes distinct transformations. His initial form resembles a small yellow bird with teal eyes, head armor featuring an arrowhead-like blade, and a four-star cross emblem on his chest. His true dragon form manifests as a yellow-scaled creature boasting multi-hued rainbow wings adorned with stars and pink claws. After reuniting with Subaru, he evolves into an Astrodragon characterized by golden armor, floating star-shaped shields, blue and purple diamond accents, a bushy tail with colorful highlights, and crystalline chest adornments.
