OVA
Description
Originating from a distant planet, Wombat arrives on Earth with a mission to protect the planet from evil and fill it with love. This entity possesses the form of a light-pink-furred quadrupedal wombat, characterized by a wide grey snout, small ears, dot-like black eyes, and a distinctive pink heart-shaped marking on its left abdomen.

To fulfill its mission, Wombat recruits five reluctant high school boys—Yumoto Hakone, En Yufuin, Atsushi Kinugawa, Io Naruko, and Ryuu Zaou—as Battle Lovers. It grants them unremovable "Loveracelets," enabling transformation through "Love Making." Following the accidental fatal fall of their homeroom teacher, Mr. Tawarayama, Wombat possesses and controls his corpse to interact discreetly with humans. Maintaining close proximity prevents the body's decay, though Wombat's chronic absent-mindedness often causes it to forget this requirement, leading to decomposition issues. Over time, Wombat's influence gradually heals and revives Tawarayama.

Personality-wise, Wombat is intensely passionate about spreading love and becomes frustrated by the Battle Lovers' initial reluctance. It struggles with forgetfulness, frequently neglecting Tawarayama's body due to single-minded focus. Though typically patient, Wombat dislikes physical affection, particularly cuddling from Yumoto, as it causes excessive fur loss. A key revelation surfaces when Wombat admits prior knowledge of the true threat: Lord Hireashi's reality show "Can I Destroy the Earth?" (CIDE), which exploits conflicts for intergalactic entertainment. Wombat acts as an animal rights activist, aiming to protect Earth's creatures—including humans—from extermination, and criticizes Hireashi for ignoring ethical complaints.

Wombat's abilities include multilingual translation via a powerful device, necessary as its native language is untranslatable to humans. It also possesses the power to heal and revive bodies it inhabits over time. Despite initial resistance to the nickname "Wombat" (given for its resemblance to the animal), it fully accepts the name by Season 2.

In the OVA narrative, after fulfilling its mission to spread love across Earth, Wombat departs the planet. The Battle Lovers request future visits, though its subsequent activities remain unspecified. Notable traits include a preference for spinach and curry with spinach, an inability to refuse acts of goodwill, and possessing a pouch—traits consistent with its alien biology despite conflicting with earthly wombat physiology.
