Previously, Team Magma or Aqua manipulated him into aiding their Meteor Falls excavation, seizing a meteorite to power Mt. Chimney machinery until a trainer reclaimed it.

His strained relationship with his father, Raizoh—a Devon Corporation and Greater Mauville Holdings researcher consumed by work—resurfaces through a Hi Skitty doll sent to Raizoh, later pivotal in a Sea Mauville sidequest.

In *Pokémon Generations*, he intervenes at Mossdeep to halt reporters Gabby and Ty from exposing Deoxys’s emergence from a destroyed meteoroid, fearing public panic. Security pursues them unsuccessfully.
