Ryokushi, also called Ryoku, holds the position of a Sage within Ghetsis's organization, Team Plasma. As one of the Seven Sages, he wields authority and contributes to Team Plasma's mission to liberate Pokémon from trainers and transform the Unova region. Within the *Pokémon Black and White* video games, Ryokushi initially confronts the player at Relic Castle on Ghetsis's orders to assess their strength. Later, he and the other Sages regroup at N's Castle to impede the player's progress towards N, only to be stopped by Unova's Gym Leaders. After Ghetsis's defeat, Ryokushi returns to Relic Castle seeking to capture Volcarona as an offering for Ghetsis. Expressing disillusionment over Team Plasma's downfall and questioning Ghetsis and N's true relationship, he relinquishes TM04 (Calm Mind) to the player before his arrest by Looker of the International Police. Ryokushi does not feature in *Pokémon Black 2 and White 2*. In the *Pokémon Generations* episode "The Uprising," Ryokushi appears alongside the other Sages as N's Castle materializes around the Unova Pokémon League, observing the ensuing chaos and reaffirming Team Plasma's ideology. His role expands in the *Pokémon Adventures* manga. Three years prior to the main storyline, Ghetsis tasks Ryokushi with locating and safeguarding Volcarona from humans. He secures the Pokémon for Team Plasma and supervises the transfer of its Egg to the Shadow Triad. During the assault on the Pokémon League, he employs a Scolipede against trainers assisting the protagonist Black. Following the Gym Leaders' release, he escapes undetected. Later, in the *Black 2 & White 2* arc, Ryokushi collaborates with Bronius in Castelia City's sewers as part of Team Plasma's remnants. Though captured by International Police agents, he reveals their operation was a diversion for their leader's true objective. Ryokushi possesses light grey hair and grey eyes. His name across various game language versions consistently derives from words meaning "green."
