Description
Basara Tojo hails from a hidden village of the hero clan, where his father Jin stood as the strongest hero. Five years before the main story, an S-ranked evil spirit broke its seal during Jin's absence, slaughtering villagers and claiming Basara's friends and family. Witnessing the spirit assault his childhood friend Yuki Nonaka caused Basara's power, "Banishing Shift," to spiral uncontrollably. This erased the evil spirit and the victims' bodies—sparing only Yuki—and scarred the land, leading to Basara's exile. Jin secured his son's release by forfeiting his own status, prompting their relocation to the city where Basara enrolled at Hijirigasaka Academy.

He wields Brynhildr, a cursed sword purified during the village tragedy. His signature ability, Banishing Shift, nullifies any targeted magic or skill. Specializing in speed for evasion and precision strikes, Basara contends with trauma-induced nightmares of an unidentified man threatening a girl, which initially impeded his control over his power. Nevertheless, he maintains composure in crises and upholds a strong sense of justice toward those under his protection.

His life shifts when Jin announces a remarriage, introducing stepsisters Mio and Maria Naruse. After Jin departs overseas, the sisters reveal their demonic heritage—Mio as heir to former Demon Lord Wilbert, targeted by the current demon lord's faction. Their attempt to expel him with magic exposes Basara's hero lineage, causing him to cast them out initially. Learning from Jin that Mio requires protection from assassins seeking her inherited power, Basara reconsiders. He rescues Mio from an attack and accepts them as family.

A pivotal moment occurs when Maria facilitates a master-servant contract intending to bind Basara as Mio's servant. The spell backfires, designating Basara as master and Mio as servant. Infused with Maria's succubus magic, the pact imposes severe penalties for disloyalty: intense aphrodisiac effects only Basara can relieve through physical contact, frequently resulting in sexual scenarios. This strains early interactions, especially as Mio initially distrusts him. Shared battles and domestic life foster mutual reliance over time, with Basara developing romantic feelings for Mio, Maria, and Yuki—who later enters her own combat pact to augment their strength.

Across subsequent conflicts, including a tournament arc in the demon realm, Basara defends Mio against adversaries like the hero clan observer Yahiro Takagawa (Lars), current Demon Lord Leohart, and Wilbert's brother Ramsus. His resolve to protect his extended circle—including Maria, Yuki, her sister Kurumi, and the spirit warrior Zest—drives him to hone his abilities, achieving full mastery of Banishing Shift. These efforts culminate in his leadership during the interdimensional war to decide the demon realm's future.

Later in life, he formalizes relationships with eight women, marrying Mio, Maria, Yuki, and others. Each bears his children, solidifying their bonds.
