Description
Reiko Arisugawa is a 15-year-old student and first-year representative at the elite all-girls Seikain Jogakkou. Her attendance follows the Arisugawa family tradition, wealthy patrons of the school who send daughters to emulate female ancestors. Initially pressured into an arranged marriage, Reiko resisted with help from Kimito Kagurazaka and others, leading her mother to accept her choice to marry for love.

She possesses long blonde hair, usually secured with a white flower clip on the left side, blue or turquoise eyes, and a tall, fair-skinned, notably busty figure. Reiko typically wears the standard Seikain uniform with tall stockings and a ribbon tie.

Socially, Reiko projects a cheerful, polite, and optimistic demeanor, making her one of the school's most popular and influential students. This poised image conceals intense jealousy, especially concerning Kimito's interactions with girls like Aika Tenkuubashi, and drastic mood shifts triggered by feeling pitied or challenged. Her rivalry with Aika originates from competition for Kimito's attention but evolves into frequent, sometimes vitriolic, mutual verbal sparring.

Her development centers on growing attachment to Kimito. It began when he helped resolve her marital pressure and solidified after he accidentally saw her nude, leading Reiko to believe they must marry. This incident fuels her romantic interest, though the marriage concept remains largely symbolic. She joins the Commoner Club primarily to stay near Kimito and monitor his interactions but gradually forms genuine bonds with members like Hakua Shiodome and Karen Jinryou.

Her sheltered upbringing creates fascination with commoner culture, though she struggles with practical aspects of the outside world. Despite excelling academically and athletically, she harbors hidden flaws, most notably a severely poor singing voice capable of shattering glass.

The name "Reiko" combines "beautiful" (麗) and "child" (子). "Arisugawa" signifies "exist" (有), "nest" (栖), and "river" (川). Her eventual married surname, Kagurazaka, derives from "Shinto music" (神楽) and "slope" (坂).
