Description
Hiroshi Miyanomori, the fifth son of the Miyanomori family, was born on September 10 and navigates life as an 18-year-old seventh-year student at the Imperial School. His mother, Saeki Yoshi—daughter of the Prime Minister and a political advocate for women’s rights—raised him under the rigid expectations of both the Saeki and Miyanomori lineages. Bound by arranged social obligations and a mandated five-year stay in England post-graduation, Hiroshi chafes against the suffocating control of his families, seeking fleeting escapes into ordinary life.

Perceptive and empathetic, he often mediates disputes between his brothers, openly reprimanding Masashi for cruelty toward servants. His rebellious streak manifests in covert acts of defiance, while his restless ingenuity drives him to invent gadgets like an automatic cleaning machine gifted to Haru Asagi, a Miyanomori housemaid. When Masashi destroys the machine, Hiroshi confronts him, revealing a fiercely protective nature.

Romantic tension blooms with Haru, whom he affectionately dubs “Harukicchi” and enlists as a tester for his inventions, captivated by her unfiltered honesty. Jealousy flares at her interactions with Kiyoshi Kudo, spurring Hiroshi to sabotage her arranged marriage by journeying to her hometown and orchestrating a sham engagement—a bold move aligning with his vow to his sister Nobuko to marry only for love.

Complex family ties shape his journey: though initially strained by Yoshi’s political struggles and her father’s threats, she later endorses his bond with Haru. His impending departure for England symbolizes both submission to familial duty and a desperate bid for independence, marred by anguish over leaving Haru. At the Miyanomori Ball, he ruptures tradition by publicly declaring his love and spiriting her away, cementing their evolving dynamic.

In *Kinema Mosaic*, set a year later, Hiroshi reenters a contest for family leadership alongside Mamoru, the newly revealed seventh brother, underscoring his perpetual balancing act between legacy and self-determination. Once a mischievous rebel, he now challenges societal norms head-on, championing emotional honesty and autonomy while wrestling with the weight of his dual heritage.
