Description
Sumireko Hanabusa (英 純恋子), a student in Myojo Academy's Class Black, was the eleventh assassin targeting Haru Ichinose. Her participation was driven solely by a desire to prove herself the strongest queen, finding reward only in defeating Haru. Born into the wealthy Hanabusa Financial Clique, her childhood was marred by repeated assassination and kidnapping attempts due to her father's corporate influence. This paralleled Haru Ichinose's background, leading Sumireko to view Haru as a rival. A severe attack left her limbs critically injured. She rejected medical restoration, demanded amputation, and received cybernetic prosthetics, undergoing extensive rehabilitation to master them. She relentlessly pursued strength through continuous combat upgrades to these limbs.

Sumireko projected a refined, polite demeanor, adhering to aristocratic etiquette like hosting tea parties and gardening. She openly disdained bullying, intervening to protect Mahiru Banba. Beneath this elegance lay a ruthless obsession with power; she compared herself to a spider and willingly embraced bodily modification for dominance. She developed a complex attachment to her roommate Mahiru, drawn to Mahiru's underlying instability, which she interpreted as "madness."

Her assassination attempt involved luring Haru and Tokaku Azuma to a formal tea party in the academy's rooftop hall, decorated with mannequins of defeated assassins and a bound Otoya Takechi. Sumireko separated Haru from Tokaku using a plexiglass wall and engaged Tokaku in combat, revealing her mechanical limbs after Tokaku damaged her artificial skin. She overpowered both Tokaku and Otoya (who joined the fight) using enhanced strength, speed, and weaponized prosthetics, including detachable arms swapped for a machine gun. After Haru escaped, Sumireko pursued her into an elevator shaft, surviving grenade explosions, and cornered her on the roof. Haru ultimately foiled the attack by exploiting Sumireko's wired claw projectiles, tackling her over the railing and dislodging her machine gun arm, causing Sumireko to fall through the roof. This failure resulted in her expulsion as the eighth assassin eliminated.

Following expulsion, Sumireko took Mahiru to live with her. She kept Haru's cellphone strap to provoke conflict, leading Shinya (Mahiru's alternate persona) to infiltrate her mansion. Sumireko treated these encounters as training exercises. Aware her actions risked Mahiru's resentment, she acknowledged plans to eventually return the strap as a memento.

Her cybernetic limbs granted superhuman physical capabilities: lifting and throwing heavy objects like chandeliers, punching through reinforced walls, climbing surfaces, and withstanding bullet impacts and explosions. The prosthetics could be detached and replaced with specialized weapons, including grappling hooks and firearms. Her fighting style suggested martial arts training.

Additional details include her birthday (August 13, Leo), birthplace (Tokyo's Meguro ward), blood type (AB), average sleep (10 hours), hobbies (gardening, tea parties), favorite food (Ladurée macarons), and dislike of green beans. Her surname combines kanji for "flower" (英, read as Hana) and "calyx" (英, read as Hanabusa), while her given name uses characters for "pure" (純), "love" (恋), and "child" (子).
