Description
Cereza—better known as Bayonetta—is a coquettish Umbra Witch born of a forbidden union between a Lumen Sage and an Umbra Witch, a transgression that shattered clan laws and nearly eradicated both factions. Her birth during the Clan Wars sparked societal chaos, resulting in her father Balder’s exile and her mother Rosa’s imprisonment. Despite forming a fierce childhood bond with fellow witch Jeanne, her early magical deficiencies stalled efforts to free Rosa.

When Witch Hunts erupted, Jeanne entombed Bayonetta in an underwater coffin for five centuries to safeguard the Left Eye of Darkness, a cosmic force embedded within her. Emerging amnesiac, Bayonetta spent two decades battling angels to piece together her fractured past, crossing paths with journalist Luka Redgrave—who wrongly accused her of his father Antonio’s death—and a younger version of herself, Cereza, whom Balder manipulated across timelines.

A master of Bullet Arts, she wields hair-based magic to summon demons like Gomorrah and Hekatoncheir. Initially resistant to mentoring her younger self, she gradually embraced the role, gifting Cereza a ribbon and counsel to treasure loved ones—actions that fractured timelines, spawning parallel realities where both Cerezas awakened the Left Eye.

Her battles against the Cardinal Virtues, a mind-controlled Jeanne, and Balder’s scheme to resurrect the deity Jubileus climaxed when Jeanne sacrificed herself to break Jubileus’ hold. Honoring her mother’s dying wish, Bayonetta severed Jubileus’ link to Balder using Rosa’s lipstick, destroying the god and redeeming her father.

Later confronting multiversal threats, she navigated Homunculi invasions and alternate dimensions while guiding Viola, a novice witch from another reality. A prequel revealed her childhood training under exiled witch Morgana in Avalon Forest, where she honed magic by battling fairies.

Her design features crescent moon earrings, a sleek combat-ready outfit, and signature Scarborough Fair pistols. She balances razor-sharp confidence with dry wit and fleeting vulnerability, often surfacing when confronting her fractured lineage or shielding allies.
