Xiu-Lan is a member of the Chinese volleyball team, the Dragon Ladies, in the sequel series "New Attacker You!". Facing disbandment due to poor performance and internal conflicts, the Dragon Ladies strive to survive. As part of this effort, Xiu-Lan participates in recruiting the original series' protagonists—You, Nami, and Sho—to train the struggling team and revitalize its competitive spirit. This recruitment forms the central premise of the sequel, relocating the story's setting from Japan to China. Xiu-Lan's involvement is directly tied to the Dragon Ladies' narrative arc of rebuilding.
