Description
Chizuru Maru, a student at Dahlia Academy aligned with the Black Dogs, sports short black hair, thick brows, black-painted nails, and a lock-shaped ear cuff on his left ear. His average-height frame dons the faction’s standard uniform. Initially abrasive, Maru clashes relentlessly with the White Cats, fueled by visceral animosity. His tsundere tendencies surface in sharp-tongued jabs and aggressive posturing, which veil guarded concern—most notably toward Julio, a disguised Juliet Persia, whom he bonds with unaware of her White Cats ties or true identity.

Maru’s rivalry with Romio Inuzuka hinges on viewing him as a measuring stick for power, sparking violent showdowns. One such brawl erupts at the school festival when Maru mistakes Julio’s borrowed uniform for Inuzuka’s, triggering chaos. Amid the fray, he discerns Julio’s femininity but not her link to Juliet, compelling him to forge an earnest friendship despite their factions’ enmity.

The prefect elections upend his loyalties when Julio’s true identity as Juliet Persia—a White Cats leader—is exposed. Reeling from betrayal, Maru grapples with anger before defying his faction to shield Juliet and Inuzuka from expulsion. Publicly endorsing them, he repudiates Black Dogs dogma, then self-flagellates for earlier distrust. This act fractures factional divides, rallying peers to support the pair and reshaping academy politics.

Maru’s arc traces a delinquent’s evolution into a steadfast ally, his rough exterior belying a growing capacity to prioritize trust over tribalism. Though brashness lingers, his defense of Juliet and begrudging acceptance of Inuzuka cement a hard-won ethos: bonds outweigh inherited feuds.
