Description
Kagetsu Hakamada is the younger sister of Hinata Hakamada. She differs significantly in appearance from Hinata, with short purple hair and purple eyes, inheriting more traits from their father. Standing 160 cm tall, she is notably taller and more robust than her older sister despite being one year younger. Kagetsu boasts exceptional stamina as the fifth-grade marathon champion at Keishin Academy, enabling her to handle rigorous basketball training with ease.

A pivotal snowy evening during their childhood profoundly shaped Kagetsu. She fell asleep at home and unintentionally locked Hinata outside, leading to Hinata's hospitalization from severe cold exposure. Kagetsu blamed herself, believing she permanently weakened Hinata's health. Consequently, she became overly protective, attempting to prevent Hinata from strenuous activities like basketball, fearing it would overtax her. This protectiveness extended to distrust of others, especially males interacting with Hinata. When Hinata joined the basketball team coached by Subaru Hasegawa, Kagetsu followed her to a beach trip with school nurse Touko Hatano's help, reacting with hostility toward Subaru, suspecting him of inappropriate intentions.

Kagetsu's initial wariness of Subaru lessened after he facilitated reconciliation between the sisters, helping Kagetsu overcome her lingering guilt and encouraging Hinata's basketball participation. This resolution allowed Kagetsu to officially join the Keishin Girls Basketball Team as a Forward-Center under jersey number 9. On court, her physical abilities compensate for her shorter stature compared to typical centers. Her marathon-honed lower body strength nearly enabled her to win a jump ball against taller opponents. She leverages speed to outmaneuver larger players and demonstrates notable shot-blocking capabilities.

Her development continues as she integrates into the team alongside new fifth-grade members in the SS season, with her individual role receiving less focus than broader team dynamics. Kagetsu shifted from overprotectiveness to supporting Hinata's passions while channeling her athleticism into basketball.
