Description
Hiiragi Takenaka is one of the twin younger sisters of Natsuhi Takenaka, alongside her sister Tsubaki Takenaka. Born on New Year's Day, her name "Hiiragi" translates to "holly" while "Takenaka" signifies a "dweller amongst bamboo." Closely resembling Tsubaki with short black hair and amber eyes, Hiiragi wears a distinctive yellow or pink flower-shaped ribbon on the right side of her hair. Both twins energetically refer to themselves using the masculine pronoun "boku" and share the nickname "Tsubahi" or "TsubaHii," reflecting their deep bond and synchronized nature.
A competitive Capricorn standing 140 cm tall, Hiiragi is in Class 5-A at Keishin Academy. She wears jersey number 12 as the Point Guard for the fifth-grade girls' basketball team, her superior ball-handling and defensive skills setting her apart from Tsubaki. The twins practice daily with their older brother Natsuhi, who initially overlooks their talent. They intensely rival Maho Misawa, disliking her frequent interactions with Natsuhi and perceived flippant attitude towards basketball.
Hiiragi and Tsubaki share an exceptional connection, thinking and moving as one. This synergy enables unpredictable combination plays, most notably their signature "Twin Hell" defensive technique – a near-impenetrable double-team maneuver effective even against players like Maho Misawa and Rena Ashihara. As the fifth-grade team's primary ball handler focused on defensive stability, Hiiragi is noted to be less strategically adept than Saki Nagatsuka, the sixth-grade point guard. Their competitiveness drives skill refinement and shapes team dynamics, with their relationship to Maho evolving from hostility towards a rivalry grounded in mutual respect for the sport.
