Description
Rirove Rakels hails from the underground alchemy realm of Stoke, serving as the purple Sword Eyes of Darkness. He possesses long black hair, striking purple eyes, and wears distinctive purple and yellow robes accented by a red cloth draped over one shoulder. His adornments include a skull necklace and a piece of jewelry on his forehead, frequently paired with a rose. Rirove exhibits narcissistic traits and an intense hatred for imperfection, driving him to destroy anything flawed. Though generally calm, his expressions turn deranged in the heat of battle. He avoids crowds, leading him to initially refuse joining Yaiba's forces.

His past centers on creating Suou through alchemy, an attempt to replicate his deceased younger brother. Deeming this creation a failure—a mere "doll of bones"—Rirove relentlessly pursues Suou's destruction. This quest sparks conflict: he defeats Kizakura using his X-rare card "The BlackCorpseEmperor Baldanders" when she opposes him, later loses to Sora while ignoring counsel about Suou's worth, and confronts Hagakure for the sword Hayatemaru's alchemy ingredients, winning their first clash but taking only a single feather.

His journey alters his standing among the Sword Eyes of Darkness. Tracked to Kamata by Gordy, Rirove learns leaving Stoke violates Atlantian law. He negotiates a duel with Yaiba, agreeing that defeat means joining Yaiba's faction. Losing this battle binds him to Yaiba's service, though he declines leadership of the purple army, preferring freedom. He later partners with Garudos, discovering Tsurugi's location in Stoke and reporting it to Yaiba. Confronting Tsurugi—now a fellow Sword Eyes of Darkness—Rirove loses their battle and warns Tsurugi of darkness's corrupting power.

Rirove's relationship with Suou reaches a pivotal moment in Lemurion. Trapped within the Green Deity Sacred Tree alongside Suou and Hagakure, he battles Hagakure again, vowing to abandon his quest to destroy Suou if defeated. His loss leaves him weakened, and Suou offers his own soul to save Rirove's life. Suou's sacrifice devastates Rirove, but his tears miraculously resurrect the original Suou, who initially rejects him. Tsurugi's intervention prompts Suou to admit his love for Rirove, leading to their reconciliation. Rirove later participates in the Sword of Judgment ritual, battling Suou and accepting defeat without bitterness. During the final conflict, he aids evacuating Stoke's citizens and returns home in the epilogue to study alchemy.

In combat, Rirove employs a purple rush deck featuring cards like "The BlackCorpseEmperor Baldanders" and "The Criminal's SkullBlade Executioners." His battle record includes victories against Kizakura and Hagakure, alongside defeats to Sora, Yaiba, Tsurugi, and Hagakure. While maintaining neutral interactions with Sword Eyes of Light allies, he consistently declines their invitations to join, citing his aversion to crowds.
