Description
Shinzou Hattori, the younger brother of Kanzo Hattori, lives with the Mitsuba family alongside his brother and their ninja dog Shishimaru. Approximately five to seven years old, he trains as a ninja, initially using wooden weapons before graduating to steel-based ninja tools like swords and shuriken. He possesses a plump build, fair skin, oval-shaped black eyes, and distinctive circles on his cheeks. He typically wears red ninja robes with a white belt and carries a wooden sword strapped to his back.
His personality blends mischievousness with loyalty. He occasionally tricks his brother out of items and is known for crying extremely loudly when interrupted or distressed. This loud crying inadvertently immobilizes or stuns opponents. Despite these tendencies, he shows deep devotion to Kanzo, a compassionate nature, and persistent determination to improve his ninja skills. He maintains a close bond with Shishimaru, engaging in playful activities, and views Yumeko Kawai as a trusted friend who provides treats. His relationship with his rival Kemumaki involves mutual antagonism, though Kemumaki once taught him the ninja technique of walking on water.
In the crossover film *Ninja Hattori-kun + Perman: ESP Wars*, Shinzou plays a significant role. He uses a pennywhistle to summon help when antagonists threaten Kenichi, Kemumaki, and Yumeko. During a confrontation with the psychic antagonist Psychoman, Kagechiyo pinches Shinzou, triggering his loud crying. This disrupts Psychoman's concentration and temporarily neutralizes his psychic abilities. Later, Shinzou is abducted alongside Shishimaru and other psychic children to New York. Held at Psychoman's headquarters, the children's abilities are exploited to power a machine resembling the Statue of Liberty.
