Description
Kagechiyo is the dedicated ninja cat companion to Koga ninja Kemuzou Kemumaki, sharing both his master's Koga clan heritage and their apartment home. This black-and-white feline bears the Koga ninja symbol on his forehead, sports prominent teeth, and always wears a scarf he believes is a lucky charm. He speaks with a distinctive style, ending sentences with "nyarin" and addressing Kemumaki as "Goshurin-tama".
He employs standard ninja techniques for combat and espionage, frequently aiding Kemumaki on missions. Kagechiyo's agility and strategic thinking are evident during operations, and he possesses a unique ability called "Elecat," generating electricity within specific limits. His personality shows fierce loyalty to Kemumaki, though he pragmatically cooperates with rivals like Hattori when necessary. He exhibits superstitious beliefs about his scarf, displays typical feline contentment through singing, and holds a strong preference for fish, especially squid. While primarily serving Koga interests, his actions occasionally show flexibility, assisting others outside his clan if the situation aligns.
Key relationships shape his world:
* He maintains a master-servant bond with Kemumaki, characterized by obedience despite Kemumaki often assigning him chores and expressing annoyance at his talkative nature; their mutual loyalty is evident in conflicts.
* He shares a pronounced rivalry with Hattori and Shishimaru, frequently engaging in physical or strategic competitions with the ninja dog, as seen in episodes like "Which Is Superior, Dogs Or Cats?". Temporary alliances form against common threats.
* Towards human characters like Kenichi Mitsuba and Yumeko Kawai, he exhibits opportunistic, bothersome behavior; Kenichi's parents treat him kindly, unaware of his ninja ties.
Within the film *Ninja Hattori-kun + Perman: Chō-Nōryoku Wars*, Kagechiyo joins the collective effort against the antagonist Psychoman. During the New York mission segment, he helps breach Psychoman's headquarters and fights the Statue of Liberty-shaped weapon. In the final battle, he utilizes his electrical abilities alongside other characters, demonstrating coordinated action despite usual rivalries.
