TV-Series
Description
Matsuoka-sensei is the homeroom teacher of Chiyoko Kurotori, also known as Choco, and her classmates at their elementary school. He is a young male teacher who is in his second year of teaching when the series begins. He considers himself a passionate and handsome instructor, often referring to himself with that label, and he enjoys delivering dramatic, heartfelt speeches that he himself finds very moving. Despite this self-image, his actual conduct as an educator is often questionable. Early in the story, he makes remarks that contribute to bullying and ridicules a student for eating too much, showing a lack of sensitivity and responsibility. After a supernatural incident in which a student's living ghost attacks him, he realizes his mistakes and sincerely apologizes, marking a turning point in his character. He is not particularly skilled at remaining calm under pressure when unusual events occur, even though he tries to reassure others. He has a weakness for beautiful women and becomes infatuated with a television personality named Ando Moe, whom he pursues persistently. In his personal time, he visits nightclubs in Roppongi. He frequently fails to communicate important school information to his students and sometimes loses focus during faculty meetings. Despite his flaws, he maintains a degree of respect from his class, and he continues as their homeroom teacher when they advance to the sixth grade. He does not possess any magical abilities and remains an ordinary human throughout the story, serving primarily as a source of comic relief and a figure of mild authority who occasionally learns from his mistakes.
