There, Nodens is an Elder God who hunts malevolent entities like the servants of Nyarlathotep or the Shantaks. In the source material, he sometimes aids humans, such as assisting Randolph Carter against Nyarlathotep in "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath."
