Description
Yoshiharu Sagara, a 17-year-old modern Japanese high schooler, is thrust into an alternate Sengoku period where historical figures appear as females. With light brown wavy-top hair, straight sides, brown eyes, a slim initial build, and standing 172 cm tall, he arrives in his charcoal-gray school uniform, yellow T-shirt, and red Converse-style shoes, later adopting period armor for battle.
An avid player of *Nobunaga's Ambition*, he uses his game knowledge to survive. After the historical Kinoshita Tokichirou saves him and dies, Yoshiharu assumes Tokichirou's role. Oda Nobuna nicknames him "Monkey" (Saru) for his appearance and agility. Reflexes honed dodging dodgeballs allow him to evade spears and arrows, earning the moniker "Ball avoiding Yoshi."
He exhibits a bold, outspoken personality, challenging authority and voicing unpopular opinions. Yoshiharu pledges unwavering loyalty to Nobuna, vowing to protect her from her historical fate at Honnō-ji. While perverted and prone to ogling women, he shows kindness towards children and allies like Hanbei Takenaka. His charisma inadvertently attracts multiple female daimyos, leading to romantic entanglements.
Starting as a foot soldier, he rises to vice-captain and eventually daimyo. Leveraging historical knowledge, he predicts events like the Battle of Okehazama. His interventions alter timelines, such as sparing Imagawa Yoshimoto or Saitou Dousan, inadvertently forging new historical paths like peace treaties between rivals. He develops combat proficiency with spears, bows, and horseback riding, his physique becoming more muscular as he grows into a capable commander.
Key relationships include adopting Nene as a younger sister, marrying Nobuna in Volume 19, and fathering her child by Volume 22. He acts as Nobuna's moral compass, preventing her from executing her brother Nobukatsu and mitigating her ruthlessness. A confrontation with his ancestor Sagara Yoshihi in Volume 13 risks erasing his existence. In the finale, he prevents Nobuna's assassination at Honnō-ji through repeated time travel, rewriting history to establish her as Japan's unifier.
