Gashim, an elderly makemono (demon-beast) from the *Urotsukidōji* anime adaptations, defies the violent instincts of his kind with a gentle, compassionate nature. Once imprisoned by Caesar, a demon-world ruler, he escapes captivity amid the chaos unleashed by Kyō-Ō’s Light of Judgment—a cataclysmic event that destroys Caesar’s palace and leaves few survivors. Liberated, Gashim allies with fellow makemono Buju, Himi, and Amano Jyaku, journeying to Osaka to challenge the Chōjin.

Though his past mirrors the pillaging habits of his race, his later years see a turn toward purposeful action and solidarity. Transitioning from marauder to protector, he becomes a vital guardian for the group, aiding Buju in safeguarding the Kyō-Ō during their perilous trek.
