Yoshio Kawai is a Japanese voice actor and actor born on March 27, 1954, in Tokyo, Japan. He is a veteran in the voice acting industry, having been active since the 1970s, and was formerly affiliated with the talent management firm Arts Vision.

Kawai has built an extensive and diverse filmography across anime television series, original video animations, animated films, and video games. In anime, his roles include Mach Lander in The Brave Fighter of Legend Da-Garn, Kōzō Kira in the original Captain Tsubasa, Asimov in Geneshaft, Kennedy Grahman in Mobile Fighter G Gundam, and the Aiwa Academy Coach in Slam Dunk. He also contributed to the Macross franchise, voicing Haruaki Matsumoto in The Super Dimension Fortress Macross and a character named Matsuki in the original series. His work in the 1990s and 2000s includes roles in series such as Geneshaft, Rockman.EXE Stream, and Tenchi Universe.
