Description
Torahamu-chan, known as Sandy in English-language releases, is an athletic and gentle hamster owned by Hillary, a gold medal gymnast. This influence is reflected in Torahamu-chan's own interest in rhythmic gymnastics, and she is often seen carrying a pink ribbon baton.

She has a twin brother named Stan from whom she was separated when they were very young. A significant part of her early background involves her goal of finding him again, which she ultimately achieved with the help of other hamsters. After their reunion, Torahamu-chan is often frustrated by her brother's flirtatious attitude and frequently uses her ribbon to pull him away by his tail when he is bothering other female hamsters. Despite this friction, the two share a strong bond and a special song from their youth titled "Nakayoshi Kururun" ("Twirling Whirling" in the English version).

A central relationship for Torahamu-chan is with a hamster named Maxwell. She initially had a crush on him, first revealed in an episode where she confided this to another hamster and asked them to ascertain Maxwell's feelings on her behalf. Maxwell hinted that he reciprocated these feelings. Their relationship developed over various episodes and they are considered to have become an official couple in a later story where Maxwell reads a story about two lovers and Torahamu-chan works to make him understand her feelings; they both strongly imply their love for each other by the episode's conclusion. This relationship is further shown in subsequent episodes.

Torahamu-chan can be distinguished from her twin brother by her orange tail, which features a signature red bow, whereas her brother's tail is peach-colored and lacks a bow. In terms of personality, she is sporty and gentle but can be easily annoyed by her brother's antics. In the English dub of the anime, the character speaks with a valley girl accent.

She appears in numerous episodes, including "Let's Dance, Sandy!" which focuses on her initial crush on Maxwell, and "The Search for Sandy's Brother," which details her reunion with her twin.
