Kibago serves as Iris's constant Pokémon companion during the film's events. It participates alongside Iris, Ash, and Cilan in group activities. Early on, during a train journey, Kibago engages in playful interactions with other Pokémon, including Zuruggu, Mijumaru, and Pikachu, creating lighthearted moments that briefly distract their trainers.
Later, Kibago accompanies Iris when she volunteers to pilot a stolen blimp as a diversionary tactic. This plan aims to lure Kyurem and the Cryogonal away from Ash and Keldeo. Kibago remains with Iris inside the blimp throughout this decoy mission. When the pursuing Cryogonal inspect the blimp, Iris reveals only she and Kibago are present, confirming Keldeo's absence as part of the strategy to misdirect their pursuers.
Kibago stays with Iris for the entire blimp sequence, including when Kyurem attacks, disabling the aircraft and sending it spiraling out of control.
