Students credit his intimidating presence for the school's lack of delinquents, and his baldness fuels comedic moments, like punishment games designed to provoke him. During the Minagoroshi-hen incident, he actively supports Keiichi and the club members in persuading youth welfare officials to intervene and rescue Satoko from her abusive uncle, Hōjō Teppei. He also appears in the first episode of the OVA *Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira*.
